Luckily, RF microneedling is suitable for most skin types and we will apply a topical anaesthetic to avoid any discomfort or pain.

You are the ideal candidate for RF microneedling if you:

– have early signs of ageing, like wrinkles and sagging skin

– have scars or pigmentation issues

– are committed to doing a series of 3-5 sessions with a long-term goal in mind

You are not suitable for this procedure if you:

– are pregnant

– are taking Accutane or have recently finished it

– have a skin infection, cold sore, or a disease like psoriasis

– are taking anticoagulant medication

In the 48 hours before your appointment, please avoid using retinoids (retinol) and anti-inflammatory medications (ibuprofen).

Here’s what to expect from a radiofrequency microneedling procedure: 

To start, we will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the skin that’s going to be treated. This ensures that the process is as comfortable as possible for you. The cream will take around an hour to set in, so there will be a wait before we can start the process. 

When your skin is ready, our experienced technician will run an RF microneedling device all over your face. This equipment has grouped, insulated needles on its head, and it’s attached to a radiofrequency device that sends energy through the tips of the needles. The facial process will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. 

During the fractional radiofrequency treatment, the radiofrequency energy will create heat that penetrates deep into the dermis where all of the important structural proteins and cells are found. Here, heat triggers a natural healing process that leads to increased collagen production, encouraging the growth of new and strong collagen fibers. 

This has a skin tightening and resurfacing effect, improving your skin tone and reducing the appearance of wrinkles, scars, and pigmentation.

In the first 24 hours after your RF microneedling treatment you should:

– apply ice packs to swollen or painful skin

– use SPF to protect your extra-sensitive skin from sun damage

– use a very gentle cleanser and soothing moisturizer

– avoid makeup 

– avoid heavy exercise
