Preparation before your Botox treatment begins:

In preparation for Botox injections, we ask that you avoid taking any blood-thinning medications such as ibuprofen or aspirin for 48 hours prior, as these may increase your risk of bruising. We would also recommend that you plan any of your social events around your appointment accordingly, as you can expect a little tenderness and light bruising after the treatment.

You can book a free Botox consultation or simply book a normal Botox appointment and we will spend the first few minutes discussing the procedure before we begin. To start, you will sit down with a certified doctor (LumaDoc) who will discuss the procedure with you. You can ask any questions at this stage, and we will discuss your medical history and suitability for a Botox treatment. 

You should not get a Botox cosmetic treatment if you:

– have any active cold sores

– are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to get pregnant

– have any major skin diseases, infections, or blood clotting issues

Do Botox aesthetic treatments have any side effects?

Botox is a very safe treatment with millions of Botox injections being administered every year around the world. 

At the hands of certified medical professionals at Araya Beauty and Aesthetic Clinic, this is a low-risk procedure. 

The most common side effect is mild bruising at the injection site, but this will clear up within a few days. Other side effects can include a mild headache or some slight swelling. 

Botox treatments are typically very quick. It’s a simple yet effective treatment that only takes a few minutes to complete. 

After your initial consultation, the doctor will map out the facial muscles they’re going to target before administering the Botox with a needle. Depending on the depth of the wrinkles and the size of the area being treated, there may be multiple injections (up to 5).

Botox injections typically don’t hurt, we use very fine needles that will only produce a slight pinching sensation. If you are nervous or sensitive to pain, we can offer a topical anaesthetic cream to numb the skin.

Once injected, you’re done! You can go straight back to normal life, although you should be aware that there will be a little tenderness in the area for a day or two afterward.

You can expect to see some results within 7-10 days of treatment, and the biggest effects will happen after 2 weeks when your facial muscles have fully relaxed.

Botox is a powerful anti-ageing treatment that can significantly reduce the appearance of wrinkles and prevent the formation of new wrinkles.

Botox injections can have a significant impact in reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles like:

Worry lines – those pesky horizontal lines on the forehead

Frown lines – the vertical lines that often appear in an ’11’ shape between your brows

Crow’s feet – the fine lines around the outside of your eyes

Marionette lines – vertical lines around the mouth 

Botox may also be used by medical professionals to treat patients for chronic migraines, excessive sweating, an overactive bladder, lazy eye, or neck spasms. 

Botox aftercare:

The most important thing is to avoid rubbing or massaging the area that has been treated. This can spread the botulinum toxin where you don’t want it to go, reducing your results and potentially having negative effects elsewhere.

Avoid lying down and keep your head upright for 6- 8 hours post-treatment, to keep the Botox where it should be. Avoid exercise and anti-inflammatory painkillers like ibuprofen for 24-48 hours post-treatment.

You may have some light swelling and tenderness at the injection sites, but this should subside within a day or two. Although they are very rare, some adverse side effects to watch out for include vision problems, drooping eyelids, and difficulty swallowing. These are unlikely, but if they do happen, seek immediate medical attention.
